Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Metaprolol won't cause arrythmia infact it may cause sinus bradycardia. Metaprolol is contraindicated in heart block or bradycardia patients with qrs >0.12 sec. Please consult your physician he will examine and check for alternat cause for arrhythmia (hypo/hyperthyroidism or infection or electrolyte imbalance) and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
