Is Microgynon Effective In The Treatment Of Hormonal Imbalance?

Hi, I am a 32year old woman with acne since the age of 15, I have a child who is 8, used microgynon two years ago as birth control, and my periods were regular and less painful, plus the acne on my face, chest arms and back totally cleared, last year september i stopped taking the pill, Now the acne is back and i have lots of brakouts and blackheads, painful crumps, irregular periods, is it advisable to use microgynon for hormonal control?

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation first. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level done and also a ultrasound to see the uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of irregular periods. You can consult a gynaecologist for proper examination. You may need some hormonal treatment. But you should know the cause also to get a better treatment. Hope it helps.
