Is Monicid Injection Effective For Treating Syphilis?

Hello, I was recently diagnosed with syphilis. I was given 3 injections over the course of 3 days. The injections contained Monocid 1grm. I am in a foreign country and have no one to turn to to see if this was the correct medication. Does this sound correct? After researching I have seen that penicillin is commonly used to cure syphilis. Would 3 shots of Monocid be the correct medication?
