Is Montair Safe To Use During Pregnancy?

Hi, My wife is pregnant for 1.5 months now. But without knowing this, she was using the Tablet -- MONTAIR - 10 (manufactured by Cipla Ltd) for her allergy problems for past 1 month 2 tablet per day- 1 in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening... I would like to know if there is any problem of using this tablet during the pregnancy. Kindly advise.

Thanks for posting your query. Montair contains active ingredient monterleukast which is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. This drug is not contraindicated in pregnancy.

But as your wife has taken it in early pregnancy, there are no definitive studies about its safety in early pregnancy.

Do regular scans at 8 weeks and also anomaly scan at 20 to 22 weeks.
