Is NAC 600mg The Right Medicine For Treating A Sporadic Rash?

I saw a dermatologist yesterday for a rash yesterday and he prescribed NAC 600 daily. After seeing the list of ailments it s used for I don t know why it was prescribed for me? The rash has been active for about 5 months, it s sporadic, spots on legs, arms and hands. Have tried alcohol, antibiotic ointment, oatmeal & Epsom salt baths, peroxide, medical pre-surgery soap, steroid cream, mostly in vain. I would appreciate more advice or information. Thank you.

Hello,

NAC is not effective for a rash.

As first-line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
