Is Nasacort And Erythromycin Advisable For Acute Sinusitis Causing Facial Swelling?

I, have swelling in my face, have been diagnosed with acute sinusitis, Have have been perscribed eurithramiacine and nasacort for relief. So far i have had severe headaches and facial swelling! Predominately over my right eye. For over twenty days. what in your profesional opinion can i do?

Hi,

That class of medication is commonly prescribed for acute sinusitis so if you have started it you should continue it as prescribed.

Usually, instead of Erythromycin some alternatives of the same class like Azithromycin or Clarithromycin are used as less potential for side effects. So if you haven't started it I would discuss with your doctor their use. If you have started Erythromycin and not experienced significant side effects though I would continue with it, it is effective for sinusitis.
