Is Nicotinic Acid Drugs, Safe In Patients Post Angioplasty?

I am an LAD patient and has undergone angioplasty two months back. Iam taking Rosuvas 20, prista 10, metolar xr 25, ecosprin75, cardace 2.5, having b.p. 120/80, s.cholestrol 97, triglyceride 63, HDL 24, LDL 60 VLDL13. Now Dr. has advised to start taking NICOTINIC ACID 500mg in addition to above mentioned drugs. am i on the right track?
