Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a prescription for Norco for pain from a root canal. I will be traveling tomorrow and am hesitant to start something which I have never taken before, then be in an airplane and different state. The pain is manageable but I cannot chew well and if the teeth come together on the side on the canal, it sends me through the roof. What would you recommend?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
First thing is that pain after root canal completion is not normal, so in case if you still have pain after root canal treatment completion then you should consult your Dentist and get evaluated. An x ray can be done to check if there is still infection.
In case if the pain is only while biting or when the upper and lower teeth come in contact with each other then it can be due to high points on the tooth or filling and it has to be trimmed.
For now, take painkiller only if there is pain and take a soft diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
