Is Norethisterone A Safe Contraceptive?

Hi, I went to my family planning clinic and advise on my cerelle. I have been taking it 2 and a half month and my periods are on and off. I stated I was going on holiday and wanted to stop my period. They advised me of norethisterone and to get it from my doctors they also advised to take my. Urgent pill along with it. I went to my doctors they advised me to not take my normal pill and it significantly increases blood clots and to use condoms. Is this the case as I don t like condoms and would feel more comfortable taking my normal pull and with the norethisterone Thanks
