Is OTC Medications Safe For Throat Itching?

My 13 yr old son has small wealts on his cheeks, chin and top of his neck. He s been at a lacrosse camp all week so I m thinking it s due to a heat and grass allergy. Now his throat is itching. Do I need to take him to get a Benedryl shot or are OTC meds ok?

Hello,

OTC meds are ok for the moment. But 1 week after the treatment you should perform him skin prick test to inhalant allergens.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
