Is Omeprazole Safe While Having Raised ALT, Inflammation, And Right Upper Abdominal Pain?

My blood tests show inflammation and raised ALT but my doctor has prescribed omeprazole for stomach inflammation, repeating stool samples and re examimation in 3 weeks. Would that be safe? My symptoms are stomach pain to my right of my belly buton slightly higher. Bloating and indigestion. Pain worse in morning. 2 months ago I had rectal bleeding. I had a colonoscopy which is ok and the biopsies are fine.
