My child is 1yrs 10 month old,and she is suffering skin rashes from last 1 month. Dr.told me it is mosquitoes bite allergy, he prescribed Flutibact oint. and some other related drug but no improvement. then yesterday in went for another dr. she prescribedr Omnacortil syp, Fudic BNF oint.+ NMF-E lotion, Azithromycin 100mg , cetrizine syp. But my question Is Omnacortil safe for a child and what medication given by dr. is it going to the right direction?
From your description, I am of the opinion that Diagnosis is quite much important and it seems your child has not been diagnosed still. Steroids are as much as safe for the child as much in adults, you need to know about side effects. The pattern of rashes and their appearance would definitely give a clue. I understand Hives have formed there. Although I could not understand the need for Azithromycin as we should use antibiotics judiciously and in selected cases of infections.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
