General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern for the high cost of vesicare.
yes oxybutinin can be used as an alternate for vesicare(solfinacin).
Both are of anticholinergic class of drugs having similar action on the bladder and helping in relief from urgency, frequency and incontinence.

The efficacy of both the drugs have also been found to be similar.
If cost is your constraint, 5mg twice daily oxybutinin can be taken instead of vesicare.
Kindly consult our urologist for change of prescription.

Hope this helps.
