Is Placentrex Injection Effective In Treatment Of Vitiligo?

Hello doctor, My mother has white patches and she was suggested to take Placentrex injection. This cured to a really good extent but after some time again it has started. So can I we continue with this injection or this is this banned and has side effects.

Hi,

There are various types of therapies for treatment of vitiligo based on the type of place and size of area involved (segmental like face limbs or more generalized involvement) UVB therapy with corticosteroids Or vitamin D3 analogues like Calicipotriol or newer Topical immunemodulators like Tacrolimus Pimacrolimus work very well for vitiligo. It is always recommended to see a Dermatologist and follow their advice before considering any treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rama Kumari, General & Family Physician
