Is Plan-B Necessary To Avoid Pregnancy While On The Patch?

I ve been on the patch for two weeks going onto my third on Sunday. My boy friend and I had intercourse, he wasn t wearing a condom but did not ejaculate inside me. I was still worried so I took the plan b pill, how will that mess up my period cycle, will I still get my period when I take my patch off for the fourth week? Was it even necessary for me to take plan b?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

As long as you've been on the patch, there's no need to take emergency contraception like Plan B.
The pregnancy is unlikely to happen in these conditions, so you should not be worried.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
