Is Powergyl Effective In The Treatment Of Diarrhea In A Toddler?
Hello doc, my daughter is 2.3 year old. She was suffering with fever n was vomiting everything past few days. Ibogesic plus for fever and domstal for vomiting was suggested my one of my doc. Now she doesn t have fever n vomiting is also reduced to a great extent but now she see having loose motions . It s like 4-5 since morning and motion is in a liquid form. My doc is away and she has suggested gramogyl but chemist around is not having prescribed one and they suggested powegyl which does same work as gramogyl. She is also complaining about stomach pain . So wanted to know if powergyl will help to solve loose motion problem. . Plssuggest

The Powergyl contains a mixture of 2 strong antibiotics. You did not mention if she had a stool sample sent to the lab which showed a bacterial infection. Viral infection is a common reason for vomiting and diarrhea and even if it is bacterial there are different types. You would not to give her medication if it is necessary. It may be best to see another doctor, since yours is away, for assessment.
