General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Prednisone is a steroid drug and should not be used without prescription. You can try over the counter available pediatric cough syrups for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
