Is Prednisone The Right Medicine For Bronchospasm?

Hi I was diagnosed with bronchospasm yesterday why was I given 50 mg prednisone instead of long acting antibiotics that treat brochospasm? My nose is really stopped up I have to breathe out of my mouth and I don t want to go back and do it all over again.

Prednisone is prescribed for RA, Allergy, Crohn's Disease, Swelling, Ulcerative Colitis, Lupus, Asthma, Infection, Rash, Headaches, Itching, Joint Pain, Shortness of Breath, Hives and Acne . It can in fact be life saving in life threatening Bronchospasm.
Antibiotics are of little use unless superimposed infection occurs in Bronchospasm.
The blockage of your nose is part of the allergy that caused your Bronchospasm in the first place. Prednisolone and an anti-histaminic like Loratadine will help in this case.
