Is Propranolol A Good Alternative Of Olmesartan?

I am out of my blood pressure med which is Olamasartin.. I’m going to my appointment tomorrow afternoon, but was feeling bad, asked pharmacy for 1 or 2 pills tonight. But shockingly found out script was denied? My question: my wife has some older Propranolol.. is this a bad idea?

Hello,

Yes, you should not take Propranolol. This is because it blocks each receptor where a cardiac selective beta blocker is present, like Metoprolol, Atenolol or Bisoprolol.

Olmesartan is of a totally different category, an anti-hypertensive drug. They both work very differently and each has their specific indications.
