Is Protonix 20 Mg Advisable For Abdominal Pain?

for almost one year now I ve had right abdominal pain, under my right rib cage. Abdomimal us, lab work, stool test, ct scan, hida scan, colonoscopy, egd were all normal. egd only showed some stomach irritation, which is being treated with protonix 20 mg which helps with the stomach acid but not the right abdominal pain. I m 52 and very healthy other wise. Any suggestions?

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Protonix 20 contains Pantoprazole used for various clinical disorders of acid reflux and GERD issues, via inhibiting proton pump and acid formation. It has no effect for colic or pain relief except that part of burning pain or discomfort.

The antispasmodic medication as drotaverine or dicyclomine is best recommended molecule for primary relief. As multiple work up with ultrasound, HIDA scan, colonoscopy has turned out negative; in my surgical opinion, a diagnostic laparoscope, with or without CT scan with contrast are best recommended for the foundation building of diagnostic approach after thorough clinical examination.
