Is Pulmacort Sufficient To Treat Asthma And Cough In A Child?

I have a 4 year old daughter and she has asthma and is coughing quite a bit. We went to the doctor and they told me to do pulmacort breathing treatment twice a day and we have been. Is there anything else we can do and how long do we wait before going back to the doctor?
