Is RH Factor Value Of 107 A Cause For Concern?

Hello. In the past year my rheumatoid factor went from 71 to 107. I ve noticed my fingers becoming stiff and immobile for a couple of seconds as if they have a mind of their own. As I ve gotten older I ve had some difficulty crocheting and reaching chords on my guitar that were never a problem in the past. I always assumed it was just a part of getting older. I am 61 yrs old. My sed rate has gone from 32 to 54 also. I m surprised by the jump in my RH factor. I did not think it was a big issue for me. Is it becoming one? Thank you, Lynn

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it is a matter of concern and needs a rheumatologist review as it shows indirectly flare in inflammatory process in the joints. More work up with anticcp as well as quantitative analysis of CRP may be needed to formulate a treatment plan containing analgesics or anti inflammatory drugs as well as disease modifying drugs or immuno-suppressive therapy may be needed. If persisted may cause progressive arthritis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
