Is Right Axis Deviation A Serious Heart Condition ?
hi.. i am 31 years old, male .. i quit smoking 6 years ago, i drink beer but on occasions only .. i was never hospitalized because i never had a disease for the past years .. i undergo medical examinations every year before i sign a work contract since i am a seafarer .. i have had 2 ECG s last month and revealed a RAD .. to confirm my ECG, the doctor asked me to undergo a stress test, i had my stress test and the doctor said the test was OK .. is RAD a serious heart condition?
HI . RAD CAN BE A NORMAL VARIANT ALSO . BUT SINCE YOU NEVER HAD IT IN YOUR PREVIOUS ECG CAN BE SIGNIFICANT . SMOKING CAUSES LUNG PROBLEMS AND RIGHT HEART CAN STRAIN AGAINST IT . BETTER TO GET AN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY DONE TO SEE THE STATUS OF YOUR RIGHT VENTRICLE . IF ITS IN NORMAL RANGE . NO NEED TO WORRY THEN . WISH YOU GOOD HEALTH AND KEEP UP . NEVER START SMOKING AGAIN .
