Is Seroquel Tablets For Severe Insomnia Safe For Long Term Use ?

Hello.I was put on seroquel tablets 12mnths ago for severe insomnia.I get a good nights sleep most nights..I have the odd night here and there where I don t sleep great but overall it is working well for me.I am on 25mg which I cut a little bit off.just wondering is this drug safe to use long term.I don t have any sideeffects so far.

Your has prescribed you Seroquel which contains quetiapine which is atypical anti psychotic medicine. Its low dose does have effects in treatment of insomnia but its not approved for this indication.Though side effects with low dose can be less but if you come across any major side effect you should tell the doctor.Do not stop this medicine suddenly it may cause certain withdrawal effects.
My suggestion is consult a psychiatrist physician for insomnia as there are various different medicines are also available to treat insomnia.He will assess your problem well and lets have correct treatment depending on your problems.
