Is Sovaldi Right Medication For A Person With Cirrhosis Of Liver And Hepasplenomegaly?
Hello sir my mother is 64 yrs old and she is patient of cirrhosis of liver hepasplenomegaly and low blood cell counts platlets 88000 and esr is 150 plz help me if sovaldi(sofodus) is effective for her or not plz help me and reply me soon on my email YYYY@YYYY
Sovaldi is an antiviral medication used to treat Chronic hepatitis C infection, hepatitis C infection without cirrhosis of liver or with compensated cirrhosis (mild cirrhosis). You haven't mentioned here whether your mother's cirrhosis of liver caused by chronic hepatitis C infection or not. Again, the side effects of Sovaldi or Pancytopenia which means it can lowers the count of RBC, WBC and platelet counts as well as particularly lowers the platelet counts known as thrombocytopenia. As your mother's platelet count is below normal, so it will not be wise to use Sovaldi in case of your mother for treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
