Is Symbicort The Right Medication For Sinus Drainage In An Asthmatic Patient?

I have asthma. I have not been treated for it for about 5 years. Now I have a lot of drainage (sinus infection) and was prescribed Symbacort and Amox-Clave 875-125 for the sickness. Does allergies eventually cause asthma? Does Symbacort used as directed help with the drainage from the sinus infection?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You have been prescribed antibiotic for sinusitis...

Asthma is allergy disorder in which there is bronchoconstriction by allergen....
Hence for asthma you have been prescribed bronchodilator inhaler... In this prescribed inhaler budesonide Also present that is having anti-inflammatory action...

Steam inhalation done three times a day

Take vitamin C lozenges and drink hot water ..

As you have asthma daily check your peak flow at home by peak flow meter instrument to adjust your medication dose

Investigate with CBC to check AEC level, if high enough than Allegra M like drug prescribed

Take care

Consult pulmonologoist with keeping this in mind
