Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been referred to a sleep Doctor due to my insomnia disorder & the doctor gave me a prescription of 100mg of Trazodone. I told her that I also see a kidney doctor & in stage 3 of kidney disease my creatine # (I think) is around 43 or 44 is it safe to begin taking this medication to help me sleep along with 15mg of Temanzapan which was 30mg but now reduced by half with taking the new melds Trazodone. Thanks for your reply.
I can understand your concern. Taking Temazepam and Trazodone increases dizziness, confusion, difficultly in concentration and drowsiness. You must restrict your driving and heavy machinery operation while you take them together. Other than that, they do not cause any reactions.
Usually these medications are not given together, but in special cases like you, they are given together. If the interaction effects are too troublesome, you can talk to your doctor to change the medicine to one that does not cause any interactions. Otherwise, you can take them together.
I hope this information solves your query. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
