Is Trazodone Right Medication For Depression?

My 72 year old husband was walked to the door at a large facility where he had been working as a senior engineer for 12 years. He was very good at what he did. He had an upper management guy that didn t like him and bugged him to quit. On the last Friday of August they asked him to leave voluntarily. He turned in his phone, computer, keys and badge and security showed him out. He has been so depressed. Now he is a pilot and still runs, but his life has all but ended. He is not sleeping. He is self condemning. He has talked to doctors. He has tried Ambien and all the passion flower stuff I could think of. He is not getting better. He is actually getting worse. He is taking 10 mg of Melatonin and I have cut out coffee except for a small amount. His doctor says he needs Trazodone. How do we get it. He has an appt. with a drug doctor on October 15th. He can t wait that long. We are leaving on September 14th to visit our son and family in San Antonio. Thank you. Nancy
