Is Trazodone Tablets The Right Medicine For Insomnia?

I have suffered from insomnia for the past three months or more and have been prescribed Trazadone and three different dosages of Belsomra. None of these medications have helped me sleep more than three hours a night. The 20 mg of Belsomra makes me feel like a doped up zombie, but I guess it works the best but only because I am too high to get out of bed and I hate feeling like this. Do I have any other options? I feel like I am losing my mind and I can t work this way.

I am not in favor of using sleep aids and trazodone by far is not a favorite of mine since it can cause side effects in some people which include severe headaches and in some others it can precipitate seizures. Not only that but patients tend to need higher and higher doses. I am more a fan of trying to discover the reason for why people are not sleeping well by doing a solid history and laboratory examination. And I may follow this with a sleep study. After these steps are completed then, we try and treat with appropriate but not before. Please consider this a 5 STAR ENCOUNTER and write me at: www.bit.ly/drdariushsaghafi with more questions.
