Is Valparin Safe For An Infant?

i have 8 months old baby girl. last few days back we notice that she open her eyes very widely and shake her hands lightly and if she take some solid food before this she vomete. it happens 3 or 4 times in a day specially in morning.In EEG report seizeer activity found and doctors advised valparin 200 syrup 3 times in a day. my question is this medicine is safe for my baby and how can we measure the side effect of this medicine.
