Is WBC Count Of 3900 A Cause For Concern?

I am 27 years old. No negative medical history; however recently my WBC count is only 3900. Please assist me. I am under observation of a doctor who has given me some medicine; luckily i do not have fever anymore but i feel little less energetic as compared to before. Also I am taking glucose.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The level of white blood cells is lower than the normal range.

A low white blood cell count usually is caused by Viral infections that temporarily disrupt the work of bone marrow.

I suggest repeating the blood test in three months again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
