Is Zetia Safe And Effective In The Treatment Of Elevated Cholesterol Levels?

I am 75 with, despite avg. weight, healthy diet but not any exercise, ever increasing cholesterol ( and LDLs). My doctor now believes that it’s my genetics and would like me to start takin Zetia. I am concerned re possible side effects ( muscle damage, liver damage,....) what do you think? Jmmy

Muscle and liver damage are possible side effects of Zetia. However, the occurance of such side effects are rare
The benefits outweigh risk. Serum creatinine and liver function test red to be monitored every 6 months. Please be advised to take Zetia as prescribed.
