Is A BP Reading Of 65/41 A Cause For Concern?

I have a leaky Mitro valve, I already take beta blocker and triamterene. 11 days ago, my dr. Added valsartan 160 mg and torsemide 20 mg every other day. 6 days ago, he reduced the BP med to 80 mg, & water pill to 3 times weekly. Reason: BP before adding drugs 146-152. Then normal BP 110-119. Today BP dropped to 65 says,41 dia, pulse 51. What numbers are too low, sending me to the emergency room?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This blood pressure is too low. If you are not feeling like you are going to faint, you can try stopping the blood pressure medications and calling your doctor, and hopefully, the BP will come back up. But if it doesn't, or you are feeling very weak and like you might pass out, or if you have a fever, I would go to the ER.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
