Is A CMIA Duo Test Report On 46th Day After Exposure Conclusive?

Sir I have done unprotected sex with a sex worker on 1st July Tested cmia duo test from Dr lal path on 40th & 46th day after exposure and it was negative. Should I take it as conclusive. Worry area is that I am getting symptoms like swollen in lump node just after 4-5 days of exposure, rashes, tiredness, headache. Please help

Hi,

CMIA test detect both antigen as well antibody. So it can effectively rule out HIV after 6 week of exposure.So mostly you are not having HIV infection. But let me know you that WHO recommend to investigate again after three month of exposure.

So you have to repeat at that time. If you want to exclude HIV just now and don't want to repeat test after 3 month of exposure than investigate with western blot like molecular test which is confirmatory test.
