Is A Bleeding Wound Due To Human Bite A Cause For Concern?

My grand son, 6 years old got a cut above eye brow, by the tooth of another boy while playing. It bled for some time and we applied ice and cleaned the wound and applied neosporin. He is fine and slept. Since the wound is deep, we used a wound closure strip to join the cut portion. Now, the worry is that since it is a bled wound due to human tooth, is there any attention needed in time to avoid any kind of infection etcc.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Bleeding of wound due to human bite is not much of a concern.
However, you need to take care of the wound to keep it clean so that it would not to get infected.
It would be better if Tetanus Toxoid (TT) injection is administered, in case the child has not received it over last 6 months.
Take care of the wound by washing it with antiseptic solution like Povidine-iodine twice a day, before applying Neomycin cream. You can give antiinflammatory-analgesic medication like Ibuprofen in the form of syrup or tablet for 3 to 5 days.
Gradually, the wound should heal completely by 5 to 7 days.
