Is A Brace Required For Subchrondral Lateral Posterior Fracture Of The Tibial Plateau And Possible Acl Tear?
I fell from a standing position downhill on ice a month ago. I just got approved for a MRI. I have been walking on it and exercising a little for three weeks. MRI shows subchrondral lateral posterior fracture of the tibial plateau and possible acl tear. Should I be in a brace?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You are having fracture in the tibia( long bone of your leg) and small tear in one of you knee joint ligament. They are not serious and no surgical intervention is needed. However you have to immobilise the affected limb in a brace for four to six weeks. Consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
