Is A Delayed Period After Unprotected Intercourse Due To A Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor,I'm married for 1 year.Age- 24,My periods r regular and i got my last period on 28th jan 2010.And i'm expecting the same date of period in feb also, but it didn't occur.I had an unprotected Intercourse with my Husband on 27th feb.I've not taken any pills. After this i had taken home pregnancy test on 6th march & 10th march,both showing negative. Then i concern a gynac. who advice me Modus-10 & Rantec-d for 3 days.Pls. advice whether i'm pregnant or not.And the medicines given by doctor r ok.

Hallow Dear,

One day before the expected date of period will most unlikely result in any pregnancy since this day is far away from the fertile window. Egg is released 14 days prior to the next expected menses. A period of about one week is the fertile window. Day of your unprotected sexual relation is far away from this period.

Moreover, both the tests performed after 6 & 10 days of missed period have reported negative. So you are not pregnant.

Your doctor had asked you to take Modus 10 pills which are Medroxyprogesterone pills. About 4-7 days after discontinuing these pills, you should get withdrawal bleeding endorsing that you are not pregnant.

Rantec-d tablets are to control the acidity in the stomach which may be a result of Modus 10.

Yes madam, the medicines prescribed by your doctor are correct medicines and they will help you resolve your dilemma.
