Is A Discolored Lump On Cheek Post Injury A Cause For Concern?

My daughter threw her tv remote to her sister and it hit her in the face. She had an instant black and blue mark and quarter sized lump on her cheek bone. This just happened about a half hour ago. Should I make her an appointment for the doctor to get checked out or not worry about it?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to sudden blow to her face there has been rupture of small blood vessel leading to bruising and black and blue mark on face..
You need not to worry about it as it will resolve gradually but can take a few days like around ten days to 2 weeks to resolve completely..
You need not to worry about it as there seems nothing serious..
I would suggest you to do cool compresses over the area..
You can apply Heparin gel for faster resolution of bruising..
In case if there is pain give her Tylenol or Ibuprofen..
After 2 to 3 days start doing alternate warm and cool compresses..
In case if there is no improvement of the symptoms worsen consult a General Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
