Is A Flu Test Necessary While Having Nasal Drainage And Intense Cough?

I have been sick for about a week. Convinced it is a sinus infection with discomfort to my nasal sinuses and eyes burning. I did not feel really bad until about 3 days into it with severe nasal drainage and intense, deep cough. I don t really feel that bad, but others have suggested I could have the flu. I did not have body aches or high fever and it came on slowly. Is it too late for a flu test?

Hello,

As a physician and as per my knowledge, the sudden onset of symptoms of any one of the fever, feverishness, nausea, Malaise and any one of the cough, cold or shortness of breath, it's known as influenza like illness.

So, you have nasal discharge along with now feeling fever and intense cough and you have severe body ache, weakness then I will suggest you to go for flu test.

Till now, you can take tablet Dolo, tablet Okacet cold, and tablet Ranitidine. You can take steam inhalation and Betadine gargle twice a day. Keep yourself well hydrated, maintain your proper hygiene and keep yourself warm also.
