Is A Foul Smelling Discharging Mole A Cause For Concern?
My mother has a large mole and it caught on something yesterday and now is oozing and has a very foul odor. She is 95. The practical nurse caring for her has put a dressing on it. Not sure what is causing the odor. The practical nurse said it isn t infected. But the odor leads me to wonder what is causing it. They wore masks to go into the room.

It is an infected mole. Clean the area with soap and water and apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin.
A biopsy must be taken from the edge to rule out cancerous change. Consult a general surgeon and he will direct you accordingly.
