Is A Growing Bump On The Shin A Cause For Concern?

Hi. I have a bump on my shin that seems to get a little bigger. I dont really hurt but if i press on it it hurts a little. I went to see a docter and they said it is not a blood clot but rather an infection from something that bit me. There arent any bite marks. The bump started with what seemed like a bruise but im 100% sure i never bumped my leg. The redness and the warm feeling went away and now i this bump. When i puty shin under water the bump looks white and it looks like a red ring around it. Thank you.
