Is A Growing Mole On Scalp A Cause For Concern?

I have a mole like growth on my scalp, it is behind my hair and caused me no issues I did not even know it was there, but it is bigger now. There are no other symptoms it has just changed in size. Is it possible for normal moles to change suddenly or is it cause for concern

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Any mole, suddenly increasing in size should be examined by a dermatologist, as this may be first sign of melanoma. In your case, it is more important, as it was not visible to you and you might not have noticed any change in its color, texture, symmetry and borders etc., which are other signs of a possible melanoma. Hence, in your case, histological examination is a necessity.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
