Is A Head Injury, Leading To A Minor Concussion, A Serious Concern?

I suffered a head injury today that has been diagnosed as a minor concussion. I am 60 years, have had earlier head traumas, and I reside alone. I am noticing that both eyes are getting red in the middle of the white parts. Should I seek hospital care or just sleep it off?

Hi,

I understand your concern about the head injury and redness in eyes. Head injuries are many times just small, some are concussions as is yours.

I advise my patients of your age to get investigated with a head CT scan as the mild injuries in a senior person are not benign or simple. The redness in the white parts of your eyes could be a normal one due to some allergy or it could be something to be worried after a head injury.

I suggest to consult a physician nearby and follow his/her instructions with regards to it. I advise not to delay in case of head injuries that in a person of your age especially having recurrent head injuries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
