Is A Low Dosage Of Xanax Advisable For A Child?

Is it safe to give a low dose of Xanax to my 11 year old? He suffers from major anxiety when having to fly and has refused to get on the plane before. He also takes 2mg of Resperidone and 1mg of Intuniv for attention and impulsivity. He is on the autism spectrum.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If Xanax has been prescribed by his caring doctor, they can give to your 11-year-old son. Otherwise, don't give on your own without consulting with his caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
