Hi!!! Doctor i am 19 weeks pregnant. Last week when i had ultrasound my doctor tell me that my placenta lies low. Since then i am very tensed is there any possiblity that my placenta will go up. Dr has planned my next ultrasound in 26 weeks. Will it harm my baby. I work in a software development company and i am a quality control Engineer. I am continuing my job. Please suggest me with the precaution to be taken.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.Low lying placenta needs to be concern. As depending on the distance from the cervical os, or covering the os.
2.Yes it will go superiorly as the pregnancy progress, what you need is a followup scan.
3.The symptoms usually starts with the bleed.
4.As long as its not covering the OS, and no complications your pregnancy is safe.
5.However complications are less, most of the pregnancies progress well, and if any chance get good rest to be safe side.
6.Regular 4weekly ultrasound scan. ( no harm you can have - no radiation)
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
