Is A Mild Spasm Below The Abdomen A Cause For Concern?

Hi Doctor I have a slight spasm (like a small rolling feeling) directly below my tummy button. It s not painful but should I be concerned? The feeling is the same I had when pregnant and your baby moves slightly (but I am certainly not pregnant. It stays in this one specific place. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The spasms are usually related to the presence of gas in the intestine. I suggest to do an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using spasmolytic such as Buscopan 10 mg three times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
