Is A Normal Delivery Possible Without Any Complications?

Hi, my wife is 6 month pregnant now ( 6th month just started on 2nd Jun) and we found that both lateral ventricles are dilated. Max transverse diameter at the level of occipital horn is 10mm. Nuchal fold thickness is increased and it measures 6.8mm. Can you let me know the chances of having a normal baby without any complications. We will be doing the repeat sonoghraphy and Amniocentesis. Is it safe to do Amniocentesis? What if we do not find any genetic abnormality, can we have a normal baby?

Hello
Health care magic user
I understood your concern and My opinion is that

1) ya normal mode of delivery is possible in your case provided baby's position remain vertical and head remain down till end ,

2)but looking at your ultrasonography finding there is a high possibilty that baby will have some congenital brain anomaly because dilated lateral ventricle and nuchal thickness of 6.8 mm is not normal finding

3) The chances of having normal baby is very less

4)Amniocentesis is having risk of 1% miscarriage but its only diagnostic test for genetic abnormality. if it does not show any abnormality than baby will be fine in majority cases

I hope my answers help you
Thanks
