Is A Painful Lump Outside The Knee Post A Fall With History Of Knee Replacement Serious?

I fell over 3 months ago on my knees and I have had knee replacements 6 years ago. It was very painfull and I went to the doctor, he told me I bruised it next to the bone and gave me medication. I still have a lump on the outside of my knee and it hurts if I bang it or push on it. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Such painful bump needs to be investigated by investigation like X-ray / MRI to exclude boney injury or displacement of replaced knee joint. Consult your surgeon earliest. You can use cold pack or pain killer pill over the counter for relief from pain, till you can reach your doctor. No massage.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
