Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am very nervous. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with neuropathy in my feet. I just had my physical with my family doctor and the blood work that was done showed everything normal except my ana tested positive. Per my doctor I went to a neurologist and had a complete blood work testing. There were at least 15 viles of blood taken. Per my neurologist nothing out of the ordinary showed up. No ms, no arthritis, my chest X-ray was normal. She said she wanted to cover all her basis so she wants me to have a pulmonary test done and an echo cardiogram done which I am going to do. My next appointment with the neurologist is in December. I am still scared. Do you think I have anything to worry about?
Ana may be positive in normal people a few times. So if the rest of all of your tests are Normal then you do not need to worry a lot about the positive Ana test. Just relax. You may repeat the test after few months just to be very sure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
