Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is A Pulse Rate Above 85 Harmful In A Hypertensive Person?
Good Afternoon: My question is about blood pressure--I take Losartan, 1 a day for the condition, and my readings are consistently in the 120/130 over 70/80 range. However, my pulse readings,on my blood pressure monitor, register in the 85-95 range. Is this dangerously high? My primary care physician says some people just have a high pulse. Should I be concerned? Thank you, XXXX
The pulse rate varies with activities and anxiety. You can check the sleeping pulse rate or resting pulse rate. If the resting pulse rate above 100, you have to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
